Credit card payment through travel agent for airline ticket?
While booking air ticket on Kingfisher for an international destination from Mumbai, my travel agent said that the airline does not accept credit card payment and insisted on cash / cheque payment. Is this correct? In usual transactions, the travel agent would be the point of sale and should be able to swipe the credit card. The airline should not be concerned about the mode of payment. But does the airline industry operate differently? I find it strange that an airline that accepts credit cards on it’s own website will not accept payment when made through an agent.

Sounds fishy … maybe the travel agent just didn’t want to pay the small fee to the credit card company for processing the transaction.
